How to wash
Mucus chamber and silicone tips
Rinse thoroughly after each use. Safe to sterilise with boiling water* for added hygiene.
Silicone tube
Clean with mild soap and water when required.
Hand pump
Clean with mild soap and water when required. As the pump contains internal lubricant, reapply lubrication if the handle becomes stiff. Simply open the pump, apply a small amount of food-grade oil to a paper towel, and gently coat the inner walls.
*If using a UV steriliser, prolonged exposure may shorten the part’s lifespan, causing the parts to gradually become sticky, discolour or to lose its shape over time.
Gentle Reminders
Always use under adult supervision. This is not a toy.
Do not insert the tip too deeply into baby’s nostril - gentle placement is sufficient.
Use gentle, controlled suction. Avoid excessive force to prevent irritation.
Limit each session to a few seconds per nostril to avoid discomfort.
Ensure all parts are clean, dry, and properly assembled before use.
Check silicone tips regularly and replace if worn, torn, or damaged.
Do not use if any part is cracked, deformed, or not functioning properly.
Stop use immediately if baby shows signs of distress, bleeding, or irritation, and consult a healthcare professional if needed.
Keep all parts out of reach of children when not in use.
Common Concerns & Gentle Fixes
Q) Can I control the suction power of my Hand Pump Nasal Aspirator?
A) Yes. The suction power is fully adjustable depending on how far you pull the handle. For maximum suction, pull the handle all the way back. For a gentler suction, pull it only partway, such as halfway or one-third of the way. Before use, you may wish to test the suction on the back of your hand to get a feel for the suction strength.
Q) The suction feels weaker than expected/the handle feels harder to pull. Is this normal?
A) There are a few possible reasons for this:
1. Your child's nasal passage may be irritated or blocked.
If your child's nose appears irritated, reduce the suction strength or discontinue use until it has healed. If the mucus is thick or the nasal passage is congested, try softening the mucus first with warm steam (such as from a humidifier or steam machine) or by washing your child's face with warm water before using the nasal aspirator.
2. The pump may need to be re-lubricated.
Over time, the internal lubricant may wear down, causing the handle to feel stiffer or more difficult to pull. Simply open the pump, apply a small amount of food-grade oil to a paper towel, and gently coat the inner walls.
Q) I'm having difficulty removing thick nasal mucus. What can I do?
A) Thick or dried mucus can sometimes be a little more stubborn to clear. Before using the nasal aspirator, try softening the mucus with warm steam from a humidifier or a warm shower. A warm compress over your child's nose or a saline spray can also help loosen and moisturise the mucus, making suctioning gentler and more effective.
Once the mucus has softened, use the nasal aspirator again with gentle suction. It may take a few attempts to clear thicker mucus, so be patient and avoid using excessive force.
Q) Will snot go into the silicone tube?
A) Our Hand Pump Nasal Aspirator is designed with a dedicated mucus chamber that collects mucus before it reaches the silicone tube. Should mucus enters the tube, simply disconnect it and wash it thoroughly with warm water and mild soap. Allow it to dry completely before reassembling.
